THE BASICS:
Self-Care
Ask yourself these questions daily.
Keep in mind that a little self-care can go a long way!
Are you hydrated?
Have a glass of water.
Have you eaten in the past three hours?
Get some food, even if it’s just a snack.
Have you showered in the past day?
If not, you may feel better if you do.
If daytime: are you dressed?
Put on clean clothes that aren’t pyjamas.
If nighttime: are you sleepy and fatigued but resisting going to sleep?
Put on pyjamas, make yourself comfy in bed, and close your eyes for fifteen minutes.
Have you been active?
Even a quick burst of push-ups or wall-sits can lead to a small mood boost.
Have you connected with a living being?
Connecting with a living being has been shown to have wide-ranging physical and emotional benefits.
Have you accomplished something?
Even small successes can help you feel better.
Have you been over-exerting yourself lately?
Give yourself a break, and let go of the guilt when doing so!
Are you following your normal routine?
Following through with your routine can help you stay active and keep negative emotions in check.
Need Help?
You are not alone. There are many places you can go for help.
If at risk of harm to self or others: call 911 or go to a Hospital Emergency Department.
